What techniques are used to locate a claimant?
This depends on the claimant and if pretexting is allowed. We run comprehensive database searches for alternate addresses, registered vehicles, driver's license information and property ownership. Our operations team checks social media, criminal/civil searches, property appraiser websites, and vehicle registrations. On files where pretexting is allowed, we also gather information in person and over the phone with neighbors and family members.
What time does a typical surveillance start?
We will normally start a new surveillance at 6 a.m. during the week and 7 a.m. on the weekend. After establishing a pattern of activity, we adjust start times to cover all times of the day.
How long does a surveillance last?
On a typical surveillance, the investigator will conduct surveillance for an 8 hour period. The majority of our surveillance files at Ethos range anywhere from 4 hours to 12 hours.
What are the coverage areas at Ethos Risk Services?
